"Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" is happy to announce the launch of a new project which we have been preparing for several years. This project will be dedicated to exclusively perspective trends of fruit & vegetable business which provoke an increased interest. This goal was reflected in the name of the event. We hope the forum to become the traditional annual venue for those investors to meet, which are interested in new profitable niches for business development, and to serve the source of ideas and inspiration for many agricultural businessmen.
The main reason to create this project was the decreased cost efficiency of the production of the traditional fruit & vegetable crops, which takes place as a result of fruit & vegetable market saturation. According to our idea, this forum will try to reveal new opportunities able to increase the profitability of the production and sales of the traditional crops; it will also compensate the information vacuum in the issues of production, handling, processing and marketing of the crops considered as less traditional or niche products.
In 2008 we made the decision to dedicate our forum to nuts and nuts production in Ukraine; the interest to this topic has reached a very high level during the recent two years. We get inquires on this topic almost everyday - we'll use the received questions for the formation of the forum program.
As known, Ukraine is one of the largest nuts importers in Eastern Europe thanks to a well developed confectionary industry and a dynamically increasing demand on the fresh market. Despite of a great volume of the inner market, the inner nuts production is very weakly developed. There are almost no commercial orchards of walnuts in our country - Ukraine even has to import these products. Hazelnut is successfully produced on the demo-plots in southern regions; however, almost no one has produced hazelnut on commercial cultivation areas up to the present moment. The similar situation is observed with almond which has been cultivated in AR Crimea and other southern regions for a long time ago.
We decided to invite the best experts of this industry from Ukraine, Turkey, France, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, Russia and other counties, and also the companies - the large buyers of nuts, to participate in this event in the status of speakers and to help us understand, what to produce, where and how, to what extent the business of nuts production is profitable, which infrastructure is required for the successful nuts business, and also to define the major opportunities of the marketing. Exclusively for this event, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" will survey Ukrainian nuts market - its results will be presented to all forum participants.
We have already been receiving first applications for participation in the event which will be held on January 31st 2008 in the framework of "Interagro" exhibition. We expect for around 150 persons from 10 countries to participate in the forum; however, we admit the possibility for a larger number of people to attend the event.

The cost of participation in the forum is EUR 140. First 15 registered for participation in the event companies will get 25% discount of the participant's fee.
