Mushroom business is being no longer a small-sized and household-type industry - now this business is transformed into the occupation for the real professionals. The companies, which are working the whole year round on market, were rewarded for the investments to this industry past year - they were able to get the record high price for the mushrooms in summer period.
According to the experts' evaluations, the growth rates of Ukrainian mushroom business are among the highest in Europe; despite of this fact, the technological level of Ukrainian mushroom farms is still far from their analogs in the neighboring EU countries and Holland.
Also, Ukrainian mushroom growers and processors worry about the impact of Ukraine's entrance to WTO on the mushroom business. The problem of the uniform quality of the supplied compost and mycelium has been still unsolved as well. The large producers are feared with the growth rates of the wages in this industry, and also the increasing expenses for energy which significantly influence the production cost. In such conditions the enhancing of the technological level, the decreased energy consumption and the increased yield and quality of the grown mushrooms represent the only solution for those companies which are willing to further develop the mushroom business.
Composing the program of the third international conference "Mushroom Industry 2008", we have taken into account all suggestions of Ukrainian mushroom growers and included only the most urgent problems of this industry. Not only the technologies, but also the perspectives of the mushroom market development, the maintenance of the product quality, its marketing are in focus of attention. We would like to draw a special attention to the trade forum of the mushroom business, which is included to the conference program. The retail chains, the wholesale companies and mushroom processors, interested in the increased purchases and the search for new suppliers, will participate in the forum.
The important fact is that the companies from Poland, Holland, Germany, Russia and other countries traditionally participate in the conference. The leading suppliers of the mushroom business technologies were represented in the event in 2007 to answer to all questions of the participants.
The time and venue of the conference coincides with the same-name exhibition, so that the participants will be able to save time and to discover some more of new ideas and opportunities. As of today, the conference "Mushroom Industry 2008" is a traditional venue for the whole industry to meet - it unites the suppliers of the equipment, compost, technologies, producers and buyers.
